Obama rolls on

The Potomac primaries are a sweep for Obama. It gives him some momentum going into the final stretch. But Hillary still leads in the large states. Ohio and Texas still appear to be Clinton country. Obama has gained considerably in Texas since November when he was 34 points behind, which has been cut to 10% at the end of January. In Ohio Obama still lags by 17 points showing a gain on 20 points since December. Clearly these are the firewall states for Clinton, who fired a couple of close advisers this week. She’s must be less than happy with the results of the last 2 rounds primaries and caucuses.
MSNBC report that the estimated delegate count, including super delegates Obama now leads by 1306 to 1270. Hillary has to win by better then 60% in the remaining contests to win. The math is looking rough for her. She will, of course, try to get Florida (where Obama did not campaign) and Michigan (where he wasn’t on the ballot) counted. At this point Obama is in lead in the popular vote. It’s looking bad for the Clinton camp.
TPM has the post election speeches here.
