The St. Pete Times reports, there’s still a lone protester near the hospice where Terri Schiavo died.
Lone protester still takes a stand for Terri Schiavo, St Pete Times
Call it stubborness, committment, stupidity, mental illness, or whatever. There’s still one person holding a lonely and often ridiculed vigil outside the hospice where the Terri’s saga ended. While I respect the commttiment and the sheer pig-headedness it must require, I must ask, don’t you have anything else to do with your life. Her son put it this way, “‘It’s interesting because she’s never been an activist before,’ said Wilds, 26. ‘It hit her like a ton of bricks. I think she just had problems with her past couple of husbands and she took it real serious.’” Sounds like she’s using this issue to fill a hole in her life.
I spent a lot of time reading about it when Terri Schiavo came to national media attention last year. The best, objective review can be found on Abstract Appeal, by Florida lawyer Matt Conigliaro. Rather than go through it all again here I created another topic with some of my collected thoughts about the case here.
