It’s Getting Uglier

Time’s Karen Tumultey sees it as a sign of campaign that’s beginning to internalize defeat and want to de-legitimize the winners:

When You Know You Are Losing - Swampland - TIME
There is now a pattern emerging from the McCain campaign and its surrogates. Instead of trying to persuade Americans who aren’t in their camp (the sign of a campaign that thinks it can win), they are trying to de-legitimize them (the sign of a campaign that thinks it can’t).

If Obama wins tha GOP will do their best to cast aspersions on the election process with suprious claims of election fraud. In the second prong on the attack, they’ll attack Obama and his supporters as not being “real Americans” as defined by not slavishly believing every GOP press release or the wingnuttery of various right wing gas bags (Beck, Limbaugh and Hewitt I’m looking at you). It will make the witch hunt endured by the Clintons look like a sleep over pillow fight. It will get even uglier yet.
